Currently working on building a summer capsule wardrobe and thought I’d share the process in case you’re curious or want to do it with me! The first step has everything to do with lifestyle and function, which should be (imo) the biggest influence over what’s in your closet. Even more so than your personal style or aesthetic (as the kids are calling it), which we’ll get to next week… My favorite part!
In the meantime, keep a journal of what you are doing and wearing each day. At the end of the week, tally up your different outfits based on type — casual, semi-casual, athleisure, business, formal, date night, etc. You can also take note of clothing items (or “uniforms”) that you tend to wear on repeat.
Side Note: If your daily routines and schedules are going to be different come summertime, take a peek at your calendar and write out a hypothetical outfit journal for the week!
For the next 3-4 weeks we’ll be finding your personal style, shopping (and cleaning out) your closet, filling in the holes, and adding in accessories!
Have fun with it and let me know if you have any questions!
