And all at once, summer collapsed into fall. -Oscar Wilde
It’s official friends! There are technically 16 days left of summer (according to the calendar), but it’s fall in our lives and homes. Oz has been back on campus for a few weeks, Espen and Tilly are headed to their first day of school tomorrow, Griff, Poppy, and I will be getting into a homeschool routine this week, layers are being packed when leaving the house, and large bodies of water are seeming less and less inviting (at least to the adults).
I tend to be really bad at transition in life, but am really good at seasonal transitions (they have my heart) because they are usually a mix of the best things: Sunny days + cozy nights, college football + fall baseball, grilled meat + oven roasted veggies, sweaters + sandals (+ white jeans or cutoffs), etc. Do you agree!?
OUTFIT DETAILS: SWEATER (wearing small), JEANS (wearing 27 – could size down), TEE (the best baby tee – wearing medium), SANDALS
So many cute sweaters! Can I get them all, please?
THE GOAL OF TRANSITIONAL (SUMMER TO FALL) DRESSING: Getting use out of your summer pieces (dresses, cutoffs, white jeans, sandals, etc.) while sprinkling in touches of fall (sweaters, flannels, beanies, etc.). The best of both worlds!
What’s your favorite seasonal transition?
xx, Rae
