The longest year, I mean month of the year is finally over and while it passed without too many changes or adventures, the sidekick next to me has decided to do all kinds of growing up lately! Talked about it on Insta yesterday, but woke up Friday morning to discover my full-length mirror had a new home in Tilly’s room (lol). She’s also been borrowing my sweatshirts and has used my straightener more than I have this week. As a mama that always thought she’d have 3 boys, I have to admit that I’m a little bit scared for this next phase of parenting a tween/teen girl and a-lot-a-bit EXCITED!
Here’s a few more tidbits and outfits from the weekend, including links!
FRIDAY OUTFIT | sweater, skirt (usually a 2 or 4 in madewell, wearing a 4), boots are old (similar or these or these would be cute!), belt (thrifted but these are similar here + here)
Kinda fancy for a Friday, but we had a daytime wedding reception that started at 1pm. The groom is a fireman and the happy couple had eloped earlier that day (so romantic!). We had a great time visiting and eating the yummiest appetizers and of course… wine.
OBSESSED with this sweater and love that it will transition well through spring! Wearing my normal size.
A little trick if you want to layer a bulky top with a skirt or dress, and still get the tucked in look, add a belt!
SATURDAY OUTFIT | sweatshirt (or here, wearing xs), the comfiest sweatpants everrrrrrr (wearing a small), sneakers (remember to size down!)
Wore this to the kids’ basketball games and immediately had a mama friend of mine ask about my sweats and then buy them while we were watching, lol. They’re that good and I think we’re all craving a few more cozy sweats options in our closets this time of year!
SUNDAY OUTFIT | sweater, jeans (wearing my usual size), shoes
TILLY’S OUTFIT | these leggings are her favorite and they’ve held up so well especially for the price point + how often she wears them, sweatshirt (similar or a more cropped option or this one!)
We’ve been on the hunt for a basic jumpsuit (like this!) for her to wear to church or just as an alternative to jeans and stumbled upon this adorableness that I wish came in my size, too! And this pullover looks like a mini version of something us mamas would wear :)
Sunday morning we shot video for a cooking segment for my brother’s film, The Wild (it’s such an amazing documentary… click here for more info) and the School of Salmon campaign that will launch soon — and I was planning on just staying in the same clothes (too lazy to change, lol) for the Superbowl but then Yoder mentioned playing pickle ball (do you guys ever play?!) at our friends house so had to change into a tee and sneakers :)
Much better game day attire anyways! Ha!
SUNDAY OUTFIT No. 2 | tee, jeans, sneakers
I have some fun kid style and wardrobe posts coming up but would love to know if you appreciate links to kids clothes and more mixed mom + mini style stuff?
Also, do you like shopping for yourself or your kids more!?
XO, Rae
PS — there is a couple clues as to what might be happening in our near-ish future hidden somewhere in Tilly’s room… can you spot it?
Heather
