Friis-Family-2015-152Hap, hap, happy Christmas friends!!!! How does it always sneak up so quickly? I’m more prepared this year than usual but the season still seems to be flying by. I’ll be taking a little break while the kids are out of school, but will see you back here on Jan. 4th (or on Instagram @raeannkelly in the meantime). Before we close out 2015 I wanted to share a few of my favorite pics from our family Christmas photos.

I’ve always wanted to have pictures taken of everyone in their jams but getting my people to leave the house in their PJ’s would take way too much bribing so this year instead of heading to the tree farm I asked my friend Stacy to come to our home to snap pics. If you haven’t had photos taken in your home I highly recommend it! There is a comfort and easiness that comes with it. No one is distracted or self conscious about their surroundings or random people and there is no rushing to get out of the house on time. The best part is getting the pictures back and seeing your family in their home sweet home. It’s kinda magical. Of course it helps to find a photographer that is comfortable taking lifestyle and candid shots. If you are in the Seattle area then Stacy is your girl!

This is the shot that graced our Christmas cards this year. Maybe not the best of everyone. Poppy was uncharacteristically not excited about taking pics and the others well… 5 out of 7 people smiling is a win in my book! Plus I kinda like when photos are a little unposed.

That’s it for now! Looking forward to lots of good times and fun projects in 2016… We might have a thing or two up our sleeves ;) Hope you have a magical, miracle filled Christmas and Holiday.

XO, Rae
