Have you ever been stopped at a light next to someone holding a sign asking for help and have nothing to give them? It’s the worst feeling pulling away — especially when my kids are in the car but it is also the inspiration for our 3rd kid friendly service project!
Last week we gathered supplies, called some friends over for a play date and put together these care packages to keep in the car. We kept things simple and tied water bottles and a couple snacks (fig bars and fruit leathers from Costco) together with a ribbon but also wanted the recipient to know they are loved so made water bottle wrappers for the kids to color (CLICK TO DOWNLOAD). Now no more driving away without helping just a little and they turned out looking pretty cute too!
We were able to give a couple away yesterday and can’t wait for opportunities to handout the rest. Here are the other Arrow Projects, No. 1 + No. 2, if you missed them!
Now if I could just get organized enough to make a “welcome to the hood” care package for our new neighbors! Some cookie dough making might be in order later today.
Happy Wednesday you guys!
