Anyone else feeling a little blah lately? Or noticing the kids bickering a bit more than usual? Maybe its a symptom of cabin fever, or the winter blues, or simply too much of the news (lol). Regardless, in my experience, the best way to get out of a slump is to use your energy and thoughts filling other people’s buckets with kind words and acts! So we put together a “warm fuzzies” acts of kindness chart to help reinforce this habit and make it fun, and wanted to share!
The acts can be as simple as giving a stranger (or a sibling) a compliment or as big as delivering blankets to a homeless shelter. A good reminder that our words and actions (small or big) are powerful. Up-the-ante by picking a reward when the chart is full! Poppy has requested a family sleepover complete with twinkle lights, a movie, and ice cream. Sounds like a win-win to me!
Keep scrolling for the download so you can print and use at home!
Color in, cross off, or place stickers over the hearts as you go! We’re using these.

While I made this mostly for the kids, it’s been a good reminder for myself too. It can be so easy to focus on how cold and dark it is or how cooped up I feel this time of year. But all that starts to matter less when I’m thinking of ways to bless someone’s pants off (or maybe the expression is “socks off”? Ha! Unless of course your name is Johan). Paying for a stranger’s coffee, baking cookies to share, or sending a “your the coolest person on the planet” text to a friend are easy ways to do that.
What are your favorite acts of kindness to give and receive?
Don’t forget to share and tag me on instagram @raeannkelly if you use at home! I’d love to see!

P.S. — A little parenting tip that has worked for us when one of the kids is being mean to their sibling, we’ll give them time to cool-off in their room until they can use their words or deeds to bless their sibling. For instance, if Tilly says “I hate you Griff! You’re the worst brother ever!” then she would have to say or write down 3 things she loves about Griff before she can join the fun again. Or if Griffin decided to use Espen’s drone without asking, he would have to do something thoughtful for his brother (like make his bed or make him a snack) as an actionable, “I’m sorry!” This was hard to implement at first, but works like a charm now!
