Hope you had a fantastic weekend (and monday!)! Today I’m starting a new series that will hopefully inspire some outfits while also giving a peek at what we did over the weekend… Here goes nothing!
SATURDAY PART 1 | jacket (similar), button up, jeans (size up 1 from your madewell size), shoes
Took Ozzie shopping (and eating… beecher’s mac and cheese please!) and had some one on one time in Bellevue!
SATURDAY PART 2 | sweatshirt dress, jeans (size up 1 from your madewell size), sneakers (wearing my usual 8 but size down if in-between sizes)
Starting to feel that winter freeze — where I just can’t seem to get all the way warm. You know? So by the time it get’s dark, all I want to do is layer up in bulky sweatshirts and sweaters. Threw this on over my jeans before heading to Tilly’s basketball game :)
SUNDAY 5am | sweat pants, sweatshirt (same in gray), sneakers (wearing my usual 8 but size down if in-between), sleeping bag coat (favorite purchase this winter!)
Travel day! Johan and I decided to drive Ozzie and his friend Angelina (our fave!) back to school together in the middle of a snowstorm which was a bit nerve-racking but the drive was pleasantly uneventful and we were lucky to get over the pass before it closed. Kinda jeally of Oz’s neck pillow, but my jacket doubled as a pillow or a blanket :)
SUNDAY 5pm :) | gray tee, mom-jeans (wearing my usual size), boots (similar — for the blanket of snow we’d be walking in!)
MOM JEANS STYLE TIP | I’m not one to make or abide by style rules however, if you’re on the fence about this fit of jeans, the best way to make them flattering is to commit to a full tuck of your top! Instant waist. Instant interest. Instant cute/trendy style!
After unloading the kids and all their stuff and helping Angelina move into a different dorm room (love her new spot!) we grabbed a late lunch at porch light (where swilly’s used to be for all my older cougar friends) then parted ways so us parents could check into our hotel, shower and freshen up, turn on the Seahawks game and eat leftover pizza before heading to the Cougar Cottage (aka, the coug) at halftime… some things never change!
PS – if anyone wants to help me open up a porch light in Sumner, let me know! (Amanda + Heather, I’m talking to you! Ha!)
Had to write our names on the wall!
Monday morning we met the kids for coffee before their first class and it literally made my life. Not seeing them before their first day in the fall was the weirdest thing, but this made up for it big time! Hopefully it was nice for them too, lol.
Now I’m home with the rest of the fam enjoying a snow-day!!!
What do you think about this new series? (Tap the heart if you want to see more!)
Since we were traveling, moving kids and schlepping in the snow, it probably wasn’t the most inspiring weekend of outfits, but I had fun documenting and sharing!
xo, Rae
BONUS OUTFIT FROM FRIDAY | headband (similar), sweater, jeans, shoes
Since I forgot to take a full-length pic but it was my favorite fit so had to include! Did you see our party nacho recipe? It’s explained on thursday of week one in the meal plan!
Theresa Johnson
Keep doing it! It feels fresh and prob is a nice change of things for you too :)
Heather
Your outfits are always great, even the schlepping ones. You have a great talent for being on trend (in the best way) no matter the occasion. Sure, WTH, let’s open a restaurant. I love the local spots here but we need something besides Italian!
