Because we all know that the longer it takes us mamas to get ready, the higher the odds are that someone’s playing in toilet water or coloring on the wall and because, everything about winter takes a little more effort, including getting dressed, I’ve been documenting outfits from the last week or so to share with you guys. Rest assured, the other half of the days I was in leggings and a hoodie.
Now just bare with me through these mirror selfies. Never not an awkward situation, but I tried to have fun with it! Oh, and if clothes shopping or buying has ever been a struggle for ya, be sure to read all the way down to the “PS” at the bottom of this post!
OUTFIT NO. 1 | beanie + tee + trendy jeans + sneakers
Ripped or boyfriend jeans would look cute with this too!
Details | hat from the Gap (similar in light pink or hot pink), tee is old from madewell (just bought this one + it’s an extra 40% off), jeans from madewell (same pair but with a finished edge and also 40% off), vans
OUTFIT NO. 2 | jean jacket + white turtleneck or top + velvet joggers + sneakers
Also looks really cute with a white tee and/or booties!
Details | jean jacket is old from J. Crew (similar and I love this oversized one by topshop!), turtleneck (it’s on sale and the white is a little see-through) joggers, sneakers are old and according to Ozzie, dirty is the best way to wear white shoes right now :)
OUTFIT NO. 3 | hat + pullover + leggings + sneakers
OK, so this isn’t that amazing. I was hoping to show you a monochrome workout look (more like this) because I love how it looks and it also takes the guesswork out of getting dressed. Hopefully you get the idea though!
I’ve been wearing this pullover on repeat with leggings lately –I sized up so it covers my booty but isn’t too oversized.
Details | hat from target (couldn’t find online), pullover (wearing a medium), leggings, old new balance sneakers (other cute options)
OUTFIT NO. 4 | sweater + skinnies + slides
Love this look because I can switch up the sweater and hair (either a hairstyle or hat will do!) and it looks and feels fresh… even 2 days in a row. See below.
Details | mock neck sweater is old from the gap, ripped skinnies old from madewell (I think these are the same tho), slides from nordstrom (similar options here), green sweater below in other colors here and here
Almost twinning with Poppy!
OUTFIT NO. 5 | hat + jean jacket + dress + sneakers
Switch up the hat (or no hat!), jacket and shoes for different looks.
Also, showing off my legs just in case you’re wondering how pale I am at the moment!? ha! Not that playing in the sun is an option for most of the country, but gosh I miss sunshine. And heat. And just enough of a tan to not look like a zombie?
What do you think?! Fun post? Helpful?
I’ve also been working on cleaning out my closet and making a few changes so my wardrobe functions better without needing to make a capsule for each season. Let me know if you would like to see details of the process!
HAPPY FRIDAY FRIENDS!
xo, Rae
P.S. — One of my goals in doing fashion posts is to share ideas for outfit combinations you could find in your closet or new trends that would be fun to try. I share links just in case you’ve been looking for something similar or have a hole to fill in your wardrobe. However, I hope you don’t ever feel discouraged or limited by these posts or the cost of clothes in general. It can easily become a struggle if we let it and I have definitely been there before!
