Ready or not, it’s Monday! We were definitely not feeling ready this morning… Still trying to figure out where the weekend went? I planned on sharing some egg hunt and Easter Sunday outfit inspo today for the minis, but didn’t quite get things pulled together.

I do, however have some other exciting Easter-y news…

Saturday, March 19th from 10am to 12pm, we’ll be hosting a mini-makers craft event at the Land of Nod in U. Village (Seattle, WA). Come make a festive Easter egg balloon and fill bunny ear goodie bags with yummy treats as well! I’ll share all the official event info later this week.

For those of you that can’t make it because of distance or scheduling, I’ll be sharing the quick tutorial on the Land of Nod blog soon… The balloons and baggies are low-fuss for the adults but still fun for the kids. Perfect if you plan on entertaining little ones this easter!

If you are looking for more Easter fun, here are a few of my favorite projects and freebies.

Printable Easter tags, stickers and bunny ear toppers / Fabric egg template and tutorial (so cute) / mini makers bunny masks / Simple eraser stamped Easter eggs

Hoppy Monday you guys!

Hang onto your Christmas baubles friends because I have a fun little look at a shoot we did for Northernly’s new Up North Market that’s full of beautiful and cozy gift giving and Holiday goods. We shot at my friend Emily’s house for many reasons but mostly her gorgeous mantle which seemed like the perfect place to feature those faux fur stockings.

Although this happened pre-Halloween it was a lot of fun finding, making and getting Christmas decor out in preparation and definitely got me in the mood for the holidays.

The con is that you just never know what kind of mood said kid might be in. Luckily Poppy was sweet and playful and even happy to help model that darling blanket that is now her favorite snuggle buddy.

It used to bug me when Christmas would roll into stores the day after halloween, but now with all these babes and the business of life I welcome as much extra time to prep and trim and bake and sing carols as I can get! We already have a few Christmas items up and I’ll be adding a little at a time for the next couple week.

When do you start decking the halls? 12 days before Christmas, the DAY after Thanksgiving or are holiday decorations fair game anytime after Halloween?

summer makeover (for the blog).

You guys, I’ve been designing a new look for this here blog and brand to match all the fun projects I’ve been working on lately. Planning on making some updates over the next few days so you should notice some changes. As I’ve come to expect with anything techie there are bound to be a few hiccups so please let me know if you notice anything that’s off or not working right. I appreciate it and appreciate you for hanging out with me here and supporting my work and journey. It means sooooo much — your the best! :)

Now for a little peek at the brand style board I put together:

Aside from the midnight blue, the colors will most likely change depending on the season and I also have a running list of decorative fonts I like to use and other embellishments but I’ll use this as a guideline to keep things cohesive while also saving loads of time on the design end.

After months of ambiguity it feels so good to have an actual logo and color palette! If you have a blog or shop that could use a little help in the design department, send me an email or leave a comment. I would love to help! (rae at raeannkelly dot com)

light switch cover freebie with the land of nod.

earlier this month we shared a super easy light switch cover DIY (complete with printable paper) over on the land of nod’s blog. head HERE for the downloads, instructions and a glimpse into my design philosophy… among other things, i’m a sucker for pops of color and pattern especially when they are unexpected.

the papers would also make cute envelope liners, garland or note cards if light switches aren’t your thing :)

while your over there be sure to checkout all the cute pillows and blankets Nod has right now. so fun and springy, i want it all! here’s the dreamy equestrian pillow and faux fur blankie (on sale!) pictured above and a few more of my favorites 1 // 2 // 3 // 4.

P.S. – if you already have your valentine’s figured out they would make a fun after school craft with the kids.

outfit inspiration for thanksgiving.

i’m usually pretty good at piecing together outfits for the kids to wear for holidays and special occasions but then  find myself scrambling at the last minute to put together an outfit for myself which leads to febreezing the heck out of something from the dry cleaning pile and wishing i had put a little extra thought and planning into it. this year is no different, so if (like me) your still not sure what to wear, head over to where i shared some thanksgiving outfit inspiration for different destinations. here are a few of my favorites above. we’re headed to the mountains so i’m loving the montana ensemble. thanksgiving in disney world sounds dreamy too.
